Easyfix was the very first double glazing fitting system we stocked back in the 1970s and still one of the most effective and popular on the market.
The double glazing panel is first edged with a flexible white PVC "U-strip", then held in place by nylon turn clips screwed on to the window frame. Particularly recommended for larger windows as the clip system holds the glazing panel firmly in place yet is easy to remove when required.
Fittings only. We can supply Easyfix fittings only, but here we are offering complete double glazing kits including clear rigid plastic panes.
Each EASYFIX kit consists of:-
- a rigid plastic sheet cut to the exact size you need
- sufficient flexible white edging for all four edges of the pane
- a simple mitre gauge for cutting the edging strip to neat corners
- clips and wood screws to hold the pane on to the window frame
- full fitting instructions
Measuring When measuring for an Easyfix double glazing kit, add 25mm (1") to the internal dimensions of the window glass (to allow 12mm (½") overlap all round on the window frame). Choose the type of glazing sheet you require and take the next size up in our price list for each window. Please note that each kit is priced for a single glazing sheet only - we cannot supply more than one sheet within a single kit.
Remember – we rely on your measurements – we will cut to the size you give us, but we cannot be responsible for any measuring errors. Please check your measurements carefully!
Clear Polystyrene or Clear Acrylic Glazing Sheet? Both of these excellent products are ideal for double glazing. Clear Polystyrene is much cheaper but is for indoor use only and should always be removed in summer for maximum life. Clear Acrylic has even better strength and optical clarity and is highly recommended for South facing windows or if the double glazing sheets will be left up all year round.
