Outdoor Glazing Plastics
Outdoor plastic glazing is ideal for windows, sheds, greenhouses, outbuildings, cloches, cold frames and other external structures.
Clear cast acrylic features exceptional optical clarity and a light transmission rating of 96%, making this rigid glazing material the best choice where absolute optical clarity is important. It is full UV stabilised and will provide between 15 and 20 years of use either inside or outside.
Clear cast acrylic is an ideal material for plastic double glazing – ten times stronger than glass, and much safer too. It is ideally suited for double glazing south facing windows or where sheets are to be left in place throughout the year.
Clear extruded acrylic offers superb clarity at a budget price. It is glass-clear with 92% light transmission, and also has ten times the impact strength of glass. You can expect a minimum of 12 years outdoor life from our extruded acrylic sheets.
Security plastic glazing is also available with our clear polycarbonate. The major advantage of this sheet is its strength – 200 times stronger than annealed glass, it is brick proof, stone proof and UV stabilised with incredible impact strength. Ideal for vulnerable doors and windows, to prevent break-ins.
Indoor Glazing Plastics
While all of the above plastic glazing products can also be put to good use inside the home, a more budget-friendly choice for indoor use is clear polystyrene. The original utility glazing, this offers outstanding value around the home. Easy to work with, and featuring a strip-off polythene on both sides for marking, and to provide protection during fitting.
Clear polystyrene is recommended for indoor use only. It makes an ideal plastic double glazing product, but sheets should be taken down and stored during the summer months to prolong their life.
